Throughout her career, Raquel Fernandez has been both diligent in her law practice and committed to the profession.

Prior to founding Fernandez Hennessy LLP, Ms. Fernandez spent more than six years as a litigator at a prominent class action and civil litigation firm in Santa Monica, California where she represented clients in complex construction defect cases. During that time, Ms. Fernandez resolved hundreds of cases through settlement or trial resulting in approximately $30,000,000 dollars in settlements.

In addition to complex construction defect litigation, Ms. Fernandez's practice also revolved around consumer protection litigation. These claims arose in both state and federal courts alleging violations of California's consumer protection statutes - the Unfair Competition Law, the False Advertising Act, and the Consumer Legal Remedies Act.  Specifically these cases involved allegations of unlawful or fraudulent business practices, product liability, and false and deceptive advertising practices. There she discovered her passion for holding corporate wrongdoers accountable and affecting positive change for consumers through the legal system.

Ms. Fernandez began her legal career at a defense litigation firm. That experience afforded her the opportunity to work closely with insurance companies and the insured to implement strategies beneficial to both parties. In that regard, she reviewed insurance policies to determine the nature and extent of coverage and provided counseling on insurance related matters.  Her practice further included lien and collection matters for owners, contractors and subcontractors. She successfully represented clients through pre-litigation negotiations and alternative dispute resolution. Ms. Fernandez brings a unique perspective to resolving disputes as this invaluable experience has provided her with the ability to analyze cases from both a plaintiff and defense perspective.
